By way of the present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, filed in August 2024, the petitioner has approached this Court assailing the respondents'

order dated 17.07.2021 vide which his candidature was rejected on the ground of his being overage. 3.

Learned counsel for the respondents, who appears on advance notice, submits that the petition is not only liable to be dismissed on merits as the petitioner's candidature was rightly rejected as he was found to be overage, but is even otherwise barred by delay and laches. 4.
