By way of the instant petition, the petitioners seek quashing of FIR bearing no. 0437/2016 dated 27.08.2016, registered at Police Station Vasant Kunj North, Delhi for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 452/323/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC'). 4.

Issue notice. The learned APP accepts notice on behalf of the State. 5.

Briefly stated, facts of the present case are that on 21.08.2016, a quarrel took place between the parties, upon which respondent no. 2 had made a police complaint against the petitioners before the concerned Police Station culminated into the present FIR. It is stated that on the same date, a cross FIR bearing No. 0434/2016 was also got registered against the respondent nos. 2 and 3, for commission of offence punishable under Section 308/323/34 of IPC which has already been quashed by the Coordinate Bench of this Court vide order dated 26.11.2024. 7.

It is stated that both the parties have amicably settled the present matter vide Settlement Deed dated 02.09.2024, entered into between them. 8.

On a query made by this Court, respondent nos. 2 and 3 who have been identified by the concerned IO, have categorically stated that they have entered into compromise out of their own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. It is also stated by respondent no s. 2 and 3 that the entire dispute has been amicably settled between them. Respondent no s. 2 and 3 further state that they have no objection, if the present FIR is quashed. 9.

In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, without any coercion and no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 10.
