Present petition has been preferred seeking directions to the respondent for pre-mature release under the Remission Policy dated 16.07.2004 2.

Pertinently, the petitioner is a convict in FIR No. 222/2008 registered under Sections 302/120B IPC at P.S. Vikas Puri, Delhi. 3.

Ld. ASC for the State has handed over a copy of the order dated 15.01.2024 issued under the signatures of Dy. Secretary (Home) as per which, the petitioner's unexpired portion of sentence has been remitted on the recommendation of the meeting of the Sentence Reviewing Board held on 23.02.2024. It is stated that petitioner has since been released. 4.

Learned counsel for the petitioner confirms the above submission of Ld. ASC.
