% 27.05.2024 CRL.M.A. 16608/2024 (Interim Direction) 1.

By way of present application filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C., the petitioners seek interim directions to respondent Nos. 1 to 3 to provide protection to them, pending disposal of the present petition. 2.

At the outset, it must be noted that the present proceedings have been instituted against a kalandra under Section 107/150 Cr.P.C. dated 13.08.2022. Section 107 Cr.P.C. provides that an order under the aforesaid section can be passed for such period, not exceeding one year, as the Magistrate thinks fit.

Considering that the Kalandra is dated 13.08.2022 and period of one year has already expired, the Kalandra is quashed. 4.

Further, it is directed that number of beat officer be provided to the petitioners in case of any emergency.
