This petition is filed on behalf of the Petitioner under Section 29A (4) and (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 ('1996 Act') seeking extension of the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator by a period of 12 months.

Disputes having arisen between the parties in relation to Contract dated 09.03.2010, Petitioner filed a petition under Section 11(6) of 1996 Act in this Court being ARB.P. 130/2017, which was allowed on 09.04.2017 appointing a Sole Arbitrator. From time to time, mandate of the Arbitrator was extended and lastly upto 31.03.2025. It is stated in the petition that arbitral proceedings are at the stage of cross-examination of Respondent's witness.

Mr. Ninad Dogra, learned counsel accepts notice on behalf of the Respondent and on instructions, submits that Respondent has no objection to the extension of mandate of the Arbitrator, however, a direction be issued to the learned Arbitrator to expedite the proceedings since arbitration has been unduly prolonged.

With the consent of the parties, mandate of the Arbitrator is extended by a period of 06 months from 08.08.2025 and period between 01.04.2025 to 07.08.2025 is regularized. Learned Arbitrator is requested to make every endeavour to conclude the proceedings as expeditiously as possible. 13.

Petition is allowed and disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
