By this petition, the petitioner seeks a direction upon the respondents to refund an amount of Rs. 49,61,994/- alongwith interest due thereof.

Petitioner filed revised return for the period Fourth Quarter-2016 on 28.08.2017, claiming the above amount towards refund. A default assessment of tax and interest was passed and a demand was raised against the petitioner for the said quarter. Objections were filed by the petitioner and a final rectification order was passed and the demand was reduced to Rs. 1,17,328/- for the said quarter. Thereafter, petitioner has been requesting for the refund of the above referred amount, however, the same has not yet been granted.

Learned counsel for the respondents assures that the refund shall be processed in accordance with law within two weeks.
