The present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. seeking quashing of FIR No. 196/2018 registered under Sections 451/509/354B/323 IPC at Police Station Vijay Vihar, Delhi on the ground that the parties have amicably settled their disputes.

As per the allegations levelled in the FIR, the present case was registered on the complaint of respondent No. 2/complainant against the petitioner stating that on 18.03.2018, while she was going to visit her aunt's place, she was abused and beaten by the petitioner. 3.

Learned APP for the State, on instructions, submits that the petitioner is the only accused person and respondent No. 2 is the only complainant/victim in the present case. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the parties are related to each other and the respondent No.2/complainant is the sister-in-law of the petitioner. It is further stated that a connected dispute between the sister of the complainant and the husband being FIR No.796/2017 registered under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC and Section 4 of the D.V. Act at P.S. Vijay Vihar, Delhi already stands settled and quashed vide order passed today in W.P.(CRL) 5/2024. It is further informed that as per the settlement agreement dated 16.04.2018, it was decided that the parties would cooperate in quashing of the present FIR.

The petitioner, who is present in Court, is identified by his counsel as well as the Investigating Officer/ SI Sunny Khatri, PS Vijay Vihar, New Delhi. Respondent No. 2 is also present in the Court and is identified by the Investigating Officer.

The petitioner has shown remorse for his conduct and he undertakes not to repeat the same act in future. Respondent No. 2 also states that she has settled the disputes out of her own free will, volition and without any coercion. She further states that she has no objection if the present FIR and consequent proceedings are quashed.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that no other proceedings are pending between the parties.

The parties shall remain bound by the statements made in Court today.

In view of the above facts and since no useful purpose will be served in continuance of the proceedings, it is directed that the aforesaid FIR and the consequent proceedings arising therefrom are hereby quashed.
