% 16.02.2017 Respondent no.2 is mother-in-law of petitioner. FIR No.96/2016 under Section 324 IPC was registered at police station Moti Nagar on the complaint of respondent no.2.

In the FIR, respondent no.2 alleged that petitioner came to her house on 30th January, 2016 with a knife and sword in his hands. He shouted at her and attacked her. As a consequence whereof, she received injuries on her left arm. Learned Additional Standing Counsel submits that subsequently, section 452 IPC and Sections 25/27 of the Arms Act have also been added.

Investigations are still pending.

During the pendency of investigation, petitioner and respondent no.2 have settled their dispute vide Memorandum of Understanding dated 9th February, 2017.

Respondent no.2 is present in Court.

She submits that her daughter and petitioner are living together. There were some differences between petitioner and his wife during that period. Now the differences have been resolved.

She further submits that she has also settled the matter with petitioner of her own free will and without any undue pressure, force and coercion. She is not willing to pursue the FIR any further. Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between the mother-in-law and son-in-law, in the interest of justice, FIR No.96/2016 under Section 324 IPC registered at police station Moti Nagar, which is at the investigation stage, is quashed.

Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
