The Petitioner has filed a complaint before Director (Discipline) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) against Respondent No. 2 in the year 2022. The Petitioner's grievance is that the said complaint has not been adjudicated till date. Accordingly, through this petition, the limited relief sought by the Petitioner is for directions to Respondent No.1 to expedite the adjudication of the said complaint under Rule 9 of the Chartered Accountants (Procedure of Investigation of Professional and other Misconduct and Conduct of Cases) Rules, 2009. 2.

Dr. Pankaj Garg, counsel for Respondent No. 1, states on instructions that the complaint in question is currently under active consideration. He submits that Respondent No. 1 has been corresponding with the Petitioner and apprising them about the status of the complaint proceedings. submits that all complaints are being taken up as per seniority, and it is expected that this complaint shall be taken up for adjudication in due course. 3.

Considering the aforenoted submissions, in the opinion of the Court, since the Petitioner's complaint has been pending since 2022, the same should be expedited. It is expected that Respondent No. 1 shall consider and adjudicate the Petitioner's complaint expeditiously. 4.

With the above directions, the present petition is disposed of along with pending application.
