Learned counsel for the petitioner states that he has instructions to seek limited relief as to expedite the trial. He states that the alleged incident is of the year 2008, and charges in this matter were framed belatedly on 26.03.2014.

He states that the trial is progressing at a very slow pace, and over the last 12 years, only five (5) witnesses have been examined, while twenty-nine

(29) more witnesses remain to be examined. He further states that, in the last several hearings, no prosecution witness has appeared. He requests that, considering the incident occurred in 2008 and 17 years have passed, appropriate directions be issued for an expedited trial in this matter. 3.

Learned ASC appearing for the State submits that he has no objection if this Court passes any direction to expedite the trial. will not seek any unnecessary adjournments before the Trial Court. 4.

In view of the aforesaid facts and more particularly the fact the incident is of the year 2008, the Trial Court is requested to hear the matter expeditiously as per its calendar and not to grant any unnecessary adjournment to either parties.

With the aforesaid directions, the petition, along with all the pending application, stands disposed of.
