By way of this petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, the petitioner seeks extension of the mandate of the learned Arbitral Tribunal, which is in seisin of disputes between the parties under a Contract dated 12.12.2011.

The Tribunal entered into the reference in the year 2017 but had to be reconstituted in the year 2021 due to the unfortunate demise of the learned Presiding Arbitrator. The mandate of the learned Arbitral Tribunal has been extended from time to time and lastly expired on 31.12.2023.

I am informed that the award has since been reserved and the learned Arbitral Tribunal has communicated in December 2023 that it may take four to six months to make the award. 4.

Ms. Bhumi Agrawal, learned counsel, enters appearance on behalf of the respondents and submits that the respondent has no objection to the O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 686/2023 The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. In view of the above, with the consent of learned counsel for the parties, the petition is allowed, and the mandate of the learned Arbitral Tribunal is extended for a period of six months from 31.12.2023.
