This petition has been filed seeking quashing of FIR No. 292/2022 registered at PS Paschim Vihar, Delhi under Section 354 IPC on the basis of oral settlement arrived at between the parties. The said was registered by the complainant against her brother-in-law, which had arisen out of matrimonial dispute which she had with her husband. Subsequently, they have resolved their disputes amicably.

Respondent no.2/complainant who is present in the Court and is duly identified by the IO and her counsel, affirmatively states that she has settled her disputes amicably and has no objection to quashing of FIR. She further affirms that having resolved issues, she is now living in peace and harmony with her husband and does not want to pursue this FIR any more. 3.

Considering the above settlement between the parties and the chances of conviction of the petitioners being remote and bleak, there is no use continuing with proceedings of the present FIR as it would be a misuse of the process of the Court and an unnecessary burden on the State exchequer. Accordingly, the petition is allowed. Consequently, the FIR No. 292/2022 registered at PS Paschim Vihar, Delhi under Section 354 IPC and proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Parties shall abide by the terms of settlement. 6.

Accordingly, the petition is disposed of. Pending applications (if any) are disposed of as infructuous.
