% 02.09.2024 1.

Present Letters Patent Appeal has been filed challenging the order dated 11th March, 2024 passed by the learned Single Judge in W.P. (C) 11241/2024 whereby the writ petition challenging the decision of the respondents not to short-list the appellant-petitioner for National Teachers Award, 2024 was dismissed on the ground that mere non-selection in the absence of evidence of mala fide or deviation from established procedures, does not constitute a ground for judicial intervention and that the appellant's assertion that he was not shortlisted due to his previous legal challenge lacks evidential support and is purely speculative. 2.

Learned counsel for appellant states that though the awards for the year 2024 have been announced, yet he be given an opportunity to file a The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. representation challenging the same.

3.

Learned counsel for the respondents, who appears on advance notice, states that the appellant-petitioner's application for award for the year 2024 was considered and recommended till State level. However, after the video conference process was over, the name of the appellant-petitioner was not shortlisted.

4.

In the opinion of this Court, the appellant-petitioner has only a right for consideration of his name for the award but he has no legal right to an award. From the aforesaid, it is apparent that the petitioner's name was considered and had been recommended till the State level stage.

Consequently, this Court is of the view that the appellant-petitioner can have no grievance with the procedure followed by the respondents. 5.

Further, as the names of the awardees have already been announced, this Court is of the view that there is no scope for filing a fresh representation.

6.

Accordingly, the present appeal is dismissed.
