Heard the learned counsel for the parties and perused the status report filed by the Superintendent, Central Jail No.2, Tihar, New Delhi. 2.
Mr. Rohit Gupta, Executive Engineer of Public Works Department, GNCTD on our request is present. He has stated that as a temporary measure, cleaning of the sewer line in question is required which has started and shall be completed by Monday i.e. 25.08.2025. urgency, more machines will be deployed to ensure that the cleaning work is completed by 25.08.2025. He has also stated that connection of the sewer line which was constructed in the year 2024 with the main sewer line shall also be completed within four weeks, as the tender for the said purpose has already been finalised.

We thus, record the statement made by the Executive Engineer and dispose of the writ petition in terms thereof. 4.
We may, however, add that any laxity on the part of the Public Works Department in ensuring compliance of this order which has been passed in terms of the statement made by an officer of the rank of the Executive Engineer, shall be viewed seriously by the Court.
