By way of the present petition, the petitioners are seeking following prayer:

"i. Issue writ of Mandamus or any other ··appropriate writ(s)/order(s) / direction(s) directing the respondent no. 4 and 5 to protect the life of the petitioners namely Amit and Sandhya Yadav from the respondent no. 2, 4 and 5 and also provide necessary police assistance to the petitioners from respondent no.3, i.e... SHO,PS- Mayapuri, DELHI- 110064." 4.

Issue notice. Mr. Sanjeev Bhandari, ASC (Crl) accepts notice on behalf of the State.

The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners does not want to press his present prayer against the respondent no. 2. 6.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioners as well as learned ASC for respondent no.1/State.

The present matter is of a sensitive nature where that petitioner no. 1 and petitioner no. 2 are of different caste, they are known to each other and they gradually started liking each other and after attaining the marriageable age they married with each other on 05.07.2025, and they decided to live together peacefully with their own free will and violation. As per petitioner no. 2 is practicing different caste, the family members of petitioner no. 2 i.e., respondent nos. 4 & 5 are constantly harassing and threatening them. 8.

The petitioners have prayed for protection of their life from respondent nos. 4 & 5. The right to life and liberty is a Fundamental Right guaranteed by the Constitution of India and the instant case merits the indulgence of this Court in ensuring the same. 9.

Keeping in view of the sensitivity of the present matter and submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioners, the SHO PS - Mayapuri, Delhi is directed to provide adequate protection in case any such need arises to the petitioners from respondent nos. 4 & 5 and the petitioners are directed to provide their mobile numbers to the concerned SHO and Beat Constable as well as the officers are also directed to provide phone number of Beat Officer and SHO concerned to the petitioners. 10.

In view of the above, learned counsel for the petitioners states that he is satisfied with this arrangement.

Accordingly, the present petition stands disposed of. The pending application also stands disposed of.
