By way of the instant petition, the petitioners seek following relief: "a.) issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction, directing Respondents No. 1 to provide immediate and adequate police protection to the Petitioner No. 1 and Petitioner no. 2 and ensure that no harm is caused to them by Respondent No. 2 or his associates; and/or;
b.) Direct that no coercive action shall be taken against the Petitioners by Respondent No. 1: Delhi Police or any other agency in connection with any alleged complaint made by Respondent No. 2 without prior notice and due process of law..." Issue notice. The learned ASC accepts notice on behalf of the State. 5.
The facts of the present case are that petitioner no. 1, a married woman and mother of a 4-year-old daughter, was subjected to ongoing domestic violence and threats by her husband at their home in Panchkula, Haryana. On 28.07.2025, the petitioner no.1 had contacted petitioner no. 2, a distant relative/friend, for help. Responding to her distress call, petitioner no. 2 went to her home, and with petitioner no. 1's free will and consent, helped her and her daughter leave the house and relocate to Delhi for their safety. In retaliation, respondent no. 2 had allegedly threatened the elder brother of petitioner no.2 that he will harm the petitioners and their parents. 6.
The learned ASC for the State, on instructions from the IO, states that a report in regards to the complaint of the petitioners already stands filed on which necessary action, if so required, will be taken by the police station concerned.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioners as well as learned ASC for State/respondent no.1.

The petitioners have prayed for protection of their life from respondent no. 2. The right to life and liberty is a Fundamental Right guaranteed by the Constitution of India and the instant case merits the indulgence of this Court in ensuring the same. 9.
Keeping in view of the sensitivity of the present matter and submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioners, the SHO PS - Wazirabad, Delhi is directed to provide adequate protection in case any such need arises to the petitioners from respondent no. 2 and the petitioners are directed to provide their contact numbers to the concerned SHO and Beat Constable as well as the officers are also directed to provide their contact The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
