% 20.02.2017 CM No. 6922/2017 Exemption allowed subject to all just exceptions. Application stands disposed of.

W.P.(C) 1547/2017 1.

This is a petition filed by the petitioner with the following prayers:- "In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances, it is, therefore, most respectfully prays that this Hon'ble Court be graciously pleased to:

a.

Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus, or any other order as deemed appropriate, directing the Central Board for Secondary Education, the Respondent No.1 to make correction the name of the Petitioner's father from "R.K. Pant" to "Ravindra Kumar Pant" in their records and in future all the certificates to be issued accordingly;

b.

Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus, or any other order as deemed appropriate,

directing the respondent No.2, the Principal, Cambridge School to make necessary correction the name of the Petitioner's father from "R.K. Pant" to "Ravindra Kumar Pant" in their records; c.

Pass such order and any further orders as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in light of the facts and circumstances of the present case."

Mr. Atul Kumar, learned counsel appearing for the respondent No.1 states that the petitioner has not even applied to the CBSE for correction of the name of the father. According to Mr. Kumar, appropriate shall be, the petitioner should represent the School for correction of the name of his father, who shall forward the same along with copy of the admission form, extract of the portion of the admission and withdrawal register and the transfer certificate, if any to the CBSE, which would consider the same in accordance with rules/regulations.

In view of the statement made by Mr. Atul Kumar, Mr. Nautiyal states, the petitioner /his father shall make an appropriate representation within two weeks to the School, and wishes to withdraw the petition. The same is dismissed as withdrawn.
