The present petition has been filed seeking following relief: "(A) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Certiorari, or any other similar writ, order or direction thereby quashing of clause 1 of guidelines issued from the headquarters of IGNOU relating to the simultaneous degree/programme wherein the candidature of the Petitioners are being rejected on the ground of there being an overlap in the period of the two degree/programme and consequently set-aside the rejections of the admissions of the Petitioners as communicated through email; And/Or; (B ) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus or any other similar writ, order or direction thereby directing the Respondent No. 2 to admit the Petitioners for the B.ED. programme as applied for in furtherance of the examination conducted on 07.01.2024; And/Or;"

During the pendency of the present petition, vide order dated 01.10.2024, respondent was directed to Register the petitioners for B.Ed course as and when respondent-University issues a fresh notice for admissions.

The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent no.2/IGNOU, submits that she has instructions to state that the petitioners will be given offer letters for admission to B.Ed. course for 2025 within a period of two weeks. The statement is taken on record and the respondent no.2 shall remain bound by the same.

In view of the aforesaid statement, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits that no further orders are called for. 5.

The petition alongwith pending application stands disposed of in the above terms.
