Learned counsel appearing for the Regional Passport Officer, on instructions, submits that if the petitioner applies afresh, his application shall be considered strictly in accordance with law. He, therefore, submits that the petition be disposed of with the aforesaid directions. 2.

In view of the aforesaid, let the petitioner to apply afresh and the Regional Passport Officer to decide the same with due expedition. If the petitioner is not satisfied with the decision to be passed by the Regional Passport Officer, he shall be at liberty to take appropriate recourse in accordance with law.
