Learned counsel for the complainant has objected to the extension of interim bail and submitted that in Arvind Kejriwal vs. Directorate of Enforcement, 2024 SC OnLine SC 410, Sunil Fulchand Shah vs. Union of India & Ors., (2000) 3 SCC 409, Athar Parvez vs. State, 2016 SCC OnLine Del 6662, Ms. Y vs. State of Rajasthan & Anr., SLP (CRL.) No. 7893 of 2021, Gurcharan Singh & Ors. vs. State (Delhi Administration) and Raj Kumar Sharma & Ors. vs. State (Delhi Administration), (1978) 1 SCC 118, Narendra K. Amin (Dr.) vs. State of Gujarat & Anr., (2008) 13 SCC 584, Ashok Saxena & Ors. vs. State (NCT of Delhi) & Anr., (2019) 11 SCC 756 and Lachhman Das vs. Resham Chand Kaler & Anr., Lachhman Das vs. Mohinder Pal Kaler & Anr. and Lachhman Das vs. Sukhwinder Singh & Anr., (2018) 3 SCC 187, it was inter-alia held that the interim bail cannot be extended for an indefinite period and has to be extended for a specific period.
