This first appeal under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (in short 'the Act) challenges the judgment of the trial court dated 23.8.2007 granting enhancement of compensation under Section 18 of the Act. 2.

It is not disputed on behalf of the parties that the present appeal is covered as per the judgment of the Supreme Court in the case of Krishan Kumar Vs. Union of India & Anr. Civil Appeal No.9910/2011 alongwith the connected appeals. Para 33 of the judgment in the case of Krishan Kumar (supra) reads as under:- "33.These appeals are, accordingly, allowed partly by fixing market value of the land acquired vide Notification dated 24.07.1998 at Rs.12,60,580/- and for the lands acquired vide Notification dated 18.07.2003 at

Rs.20,20,568/-.

Interest @ 9% per annum on the enhanced compensation shall be paid from the date of High Court judgment, in addition to all other statutory benefits available to these appellants along with proportionate costs." 3.

Accordingly, this appeal is allowed in terms of para 33 of the judgment in the case of Krishan Kumar (supra). Parties are left to bear their own costs.
