This is a petition filed under Section 29A(4) and (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal till 26.04.2025 for concluding the arbitral proceedings and passing the final award.

It is stated that due to the voluminous record and certain amendments which were carried out, the delay has occurred. 3.

Issue notice.

Ms Majid, learned CGSC accepts notice on behalf of the respondent and states that 8 months is on the higher side and lesser time may be granted for extension.

For the reasons noted above, I am of the view that sufficient cause has been explained for the delay.
