In this writ petition already disposed of, the petitioner has filed this application seeking extension of permission granted to him to continue his stay in Istanbul.

Learned counsel for applicant has taken me through order dated 21.05.2024 of the predecessor bench, whereby the petitioner was granted permission to remain in Istanbul till 28.02.2025 in order to pursue his career. It is submitted by learned counsel for applicant that he filed the present application on 26.02.2025 but has come up for effective hearing today for the first time.

regards the employment of the applicant in Istanbul. 4.

It appears that the petitioner was involved in the case bearing FIR No. 110/2016 of PS Vasant Kunj for offences under Sections 124A, 323, 465, 471, 143, 147, 149 and 120B IPC. Apparently, all pending trials, appeals and proceedings with respect to the charge framed under Section 124A IPC were directed to be kept in abeyance by the Supreme Court in W.P.(C) 682/2021, so trial against the applicant remains suspended. In the meanwhile, the applicant appears to have shifted for career purposes to Istanbul.

However, since the main petition already stands disposed of, learned counsel for applicant is granted permission to withdraw this application with liberty to file fresh writ petition on same cause of action within two weeks and till then, the stay of the applicant in Istanbul is allowed to remain extended. In the meanwhile, the respondent shall also carry out requisite verification.
