The present Petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 has been filed on behalf of the petitioner seeking extension of mandate of the Arbitrator by a period of one year. 2.

Issue notice.

Mr. Rajes, learned counsel for the respondent appearing on advance notice, accepts notice and submits that he has no objection if the present petition is allowed.

It is submitted that the Arbitrator was appointed vide Order dated 24.09.2021 passed in ARB.P. 664/2020.

Further, the Arbitrator so appointed was substituted vide Order dated 09.11.2022.

It is also submitted that the evidence of the petitioner has already been concluded and the respondent has filed its affidavit of evidence. The proceedings were consigned sine die vide his Order dated 11.10.2023.

Therefore, the prayer is made that the extension of mandate of the Arbitration may be extended by a period of one year since the evidence of the respondent is yet to be concluded and also some time may be taken by the Arbitrator for hearing the final arguments as well as writing of Award. 9.

Submissions heard.

Considering the submissions made as well as no objection on behalf of the respondent, the present petition is allowed. 11.

Accordingly, the mandate of the Arbitrator is hereby extended by a period of one year from the date it expired.

The present petition is disposed of.
