Learned ASC for the State submits that the present petition is not maintainable in view of the decision of the Supreme Court in Sakiri Vasu v. State of U.P. and Ors. reported as (2008) 2 SCC 409. 4.

Considering the aforesaid settled position that a writ petition is not maintainable for seeking directions for registration of FIR, the present petition is dismissed alongwith the pending application. The petitioners shall be at liberty to seek recourse as may be available under the law.
