The petitioner in the instant petition seeks for the following reliefs: "(a) issue a writ of mandamus, and any other writ, order or directions thereby directing the respondent No.1 to perform their statutory duties and to take appropriate legal action against illegal and unauthorized construction in respect of properties bearing property no. No. 861-862, Main Joshi Road, Karol Bagh, New Delhi- 110005, by stopping further construction and demolishing the existing structure and taking appropriate legal actions as per law;"

The nature of relief sought in the instant petition would indicate that the same can be appropriately dealt with by the Special Task Force ["STF"], which has been constituted pursuant to the notification dated 08.03.2019 issued by the Delhi Development Authority. It be noted that the Supreme Court vide order dated 24.04.2018 passed in W.P. (C) 4677/1985 titled as M.C. Mehta v. Union of India observed the necessity of such a grievance redressal mechanism.

taken note of the aforesaid mechanism and has relegated the petitioner therein to the STF.

In view of the aforesaid, at this stage, instead of entertaining the writ petition, the Court accords liberty to the petitioner to approach the STF by way of a proper representation with the copy of the order being passed today.

If the petitioner does so, let the grievance of the petitioner be dealt with by the STF in accordance with law with due expedition. 6.
The petition stands disposed of alongwith the pending application. 7.
All rights and contentions are left open.
