The present petition filed under Section 482 of the Cr.P.C. seeks quashing of the FIR No. 686/2023, under Sections 307/323/341/506/427/34 of the IPC, registered at P.S. Geeta Colony and all other consequential proceedings emanating therefrom.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that present FIR was registered on account of a quarrel between the parties in a marriage at the instance of respondent no.2/complainant. It is submitted that the MLC reflects that the injuries inflicted were simple in nature. 3.

arrived at a settlement on 06.12.2023. The copy of the aforesaid settlement deed dated 06.12.2023 is on record (Annexure 3.). As per the said settlement, the parties have undertaken not to interfere in the life of each other and the said settlement has been entered into by their own free will, without any undue pressure, force or coercion. The parties further undertook to abide by their reciprocal obligations.

Petitioners and complainant/respondent no. 2 and respondent no.3 and 4 are present before the Court and have been duly identified by their respective counsel, as well as the Investigating Officer, SI Dheer Singh, P.S. Geeta Colony.

The complainant/respondent No.2 and respondent no.3 and 4 states that the matter has been settled with the petitioners and they have no objection if the FIR is quashed. They further state that all the terms of the agreement have been complied with.

Learned APP for the State, on instruction, confirms that the nature of the injuries in the present case FIR are simple in nature. He further submits that in view of the settlement between the parties, he has no objection if the present FIR is quashed, subject to imposition of cost. 7.
In Gian Singh v. State of Punjab, (2012) 10 SCC 303, the Hon'ble Supreme Court has recognized the need of amicable resolution of disputes by observing as under:- "61. ... In other words, the High Court must consider whether it would be unfair or contrary to the interest of justice to continue with the criminal proceedings or continuation of criminal proceedings would tantamount to abuse of process of law despite settlement and compromise between the victim and the wrongdoer and whether to secure the ends of justice, it is appropriate that criminal case is put to an end and if the answer to the above The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

In view of the aforesaid circumstances, and the fact that the parties have put a quietus to the dispute, no useful purpose will be served in continuing with the present FIR No. 686/2023, under Sections 307/323/341/506/427/34 of the IPC, registered at P.S. Geeta Colony and all other consequential proceedings emanating therefrom. 9.
In the interest of justice, the petition is allowed, and the FIR No. 686/2023, under Sections 307/323/341/506/427/34 of the IPC, registered at P.S. Geeta Colony and all other consequential proceedings emanating therefrom, is hereby quashed, subject to depositing a consolidated sum of Rs. 50,000/- by the petitioners with Delhi High Court Bar Association Employees Welfare Fund, within 7 working days from today. 10.
Petition is allowed and disposed of accordingly. 11.
