1. The present petition has been filed under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, seeking quashing of FIR No. 28/2014 dated 01.02.20214, registered at Police Station Lahori Gate for offences punishable under Section 3(7) of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, and all other proceedings emanating therefrom.
2. During the course of submissions, it transpired that the charges in the present case have not yet been framed, and the matter is still pending before the learned Trial Court at the stage of framing of charge, wherein the next date of hearing before the learned Trial Court is 17.03.2025. It is a matter of concern that in the FIR registered in the year 2014, even after the case is at the stage of charge.

4. Learned Trial Court is directed to return the findings on the charge on or before 30.01.2025.
5. At this juncture, learned counsel for the petitioners, on instructions, submitted that in view of the above, he does not wish to pursue the present petition. However, it is prayed that liberty may be granted to the petitioners to approach the Court, if required.

7. The learned Trial Court is also directed to file the compliance report.
8. The Registry is directed to place the matter upon the compliance report being filed.
