The present petition seeks directions to the Central Information Commission to list the second appeal preferred by the Petitioner on 23rd July, 2024, for hearing his matter on an urgent basis. 2.

On 11th February, 2024, Petitioner filed an application under the Right to Information Act, 2005, seeking information regarding the stock statements from Union Bank of India. In response, stock statements only of four months of 2020 were provided by the said Bank. 3.

Aggrieved by the same, Petitioner filed an appeal before the First Appellate Authority and thereafter, a second appeal was filed on 23rd July, 2024 before the Central Information Commission1 which is registered under No. CIC/UBIND/A/2024/631337.

Petitioner expresses urgency and states that the second appeal should be heard by CIC expeditiously. In this regard, Petitioner has filed proof of representations dated 09th August, 2024 and 26th August, 2024 to explain the grounds for early hearing. In the above background, the present petition has been filed seeking a direction to CIC to decide the second appeal urgently. 5.

In the opinion of the Court, the cause list of CIC has to be monitored by CIC itself. If Petitioner has any urgency, that ought to be explained to the CIC for an out-of-turn hearing. In this regard, since Petitioner has made representations explaining urgency.

Although the copies of such representations have not been enclosed along the petition, it would be appropriate to dispose of the present petition with a direction that Petitioner's representations dated 09th August, 2024 and 26th August, 2024 shall be considered by CIC and dealt with, in accordance with law. In case grounds of urgency are made out, CIC shall then schedule hearing of the second appeal expeditiously.
