This is a petition filed under Section 528 of BNSS, 2023 seeking quashing of the FIR No. 452/2018 dated 06.12.2018 registered at PS Kirti Nagar under Sections 498A/406/34 of IPC. 2.

The parties have arrived at a settlement before Delhi Mediation Centre, Tis Hazari Court, Delhi on 28.04.2023.

The petitioner is present in Court and has been identified by Mr. Fateh Pal Singh, learned counsel.

The GPA holder of the respondent No.2 (who is stated to be in Canada) is present in Court. He states that the settlement has been arrived at Delhi Mediation Centre, Tis Hazari Court, Delhi for an amount of Rs. 3 lakhs to be paid by the petitioner.

A sum of Rs. 2 lakhs has already been paid and the balance sum of Rs. The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. The Order is downloaded from the DHC Server on 29/11/2024 at 12:48:13

1 lakh is paid today vide DD No. 232400 dated 18.11.2024 drawn on Standard Chartered Bank.

Since the parties have arrived at a settlement and no disputes are pending, I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring peace and would secure ends of justice. The Court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings are permitted to be prosecuted any further.

In this view of the matter, there is no reason to continue the proceedings.

In view of the settlement arrived at between the parties, the FIR No. 452/2018 dated 06.12.2018 registered at PS Kirti Nagar under Sections 498A/406/34 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed.
