The present petition has been filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal.

Counsel appears on behalf of the respondent on advance notice and supports the petition.

Counsel for the petitioner submits that the matter before the Arbitrator is at the stage of recording of respondent's evidence. It is further submitted that in another connected arbitration proceeding, twelve (12) months' extension has been granted by a coordinate bench of this Court in a petition filed under Section 29A of the Act today.

In view thereof, the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended for a further period of twelve (12) months from today.
