This is a petition filed under Section 29A(4) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for a period of 9 months w.e.f. 12.09.2024. 5.
It is stated that the matter is at the stage of final arguments and the delay has occurred as a lot of miscellaneous applications were filed before the Arbitrator.

Issue notice. Mr. Tewari, learned counsel for the respondent accepts notice and has no objection to the petition being allowed. I am satisfied that sufficient cause has been shown for extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal.

For the said reasons, the petition is allowed and the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended by a period of 9 months w.e.f. 12.09.2024 to conclude the arbitral proceedings and make and publish the Arbitral Award.
