This petition seeks quashing of FIR No.163/2024 under Sections 279/337 IPC, P.S Civil Lines on basis of settlement arrived at between the parties. Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner states that the FIR was registered on 31st March 2024 pursuant to accident which had occurred in Civil Lines and injured respondents have been adequately compensated, aside from the fact that petitioner took the injured to the hospital and took steps to ensure their treatment.

Petitioner and respondent nos. 2, 5, 6 and 7 are present in Court and respondent nos. 3 and 4 are present through VC. They all are duly identified by the IO and the counsel.

While respondent nos. 3, 6, 7 have been fully paid, demand drafts towards balance settlement amounts of respondent nos. 2 and 5 have been tendered in the Cout today (demand drafts drawn on Kotak Mahindra Bank bearing No. 611370 & 611371 for Rs.2.5 lakhs and Rs.30,000/- respectively), and demand draft drawn on Kotak Mahindra Bank bearing No. 611366 for Rs. 70,000/- towards balance amount of respondent no.4 has The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

Considering the above settlement between the parties and the chances of conviction of the petitioners being remote and bleak, there is no use continuing with proceedings of the present FIR as it would be a misuse of the process of the Court and an unnecessary burden on the State exchequer. Accordingly, the petition is allowed. Consequently, the FIR No.163/2024 under Sections 279/337 IPC, P.S Civil Lines and proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Parties shall abide by the terms of settlement. 7.

Accordingly, the petition is disposed of. Pending application is disposed of as infructuous.
