Insp.Santosh Kumar Rawat, Station House Officer, P.S.Sultan Puri, Delhi has filed the status report inter alia stating as under:
3. That on the receipt of the application, on the very same day i.e. 09.09.2024, the Investigation Officer visited residence of the Petitioner i.e. H.No.-L-327, Sunder Nagri, Delhi-110093. During the course of Investigation the statement of Petitioner was recorded, wherein she stated that her marriage to Respondent No.2 was formally pronounced on 20.10.2023, at the Arya Samaj Mandir in Vishwas Nagar, Delhi, after her marriage her in laws forced her to participate in their rituals, which she found uncomfortable to The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

That as per the directions passed by this Hon'ble Court vide order dated 11.09.2024, the Investigation Officer had provided the contact details of the SHO Nand Nagri, beat staff and division officers, in case the Petitioner required any help. However, the Petitioner on receipt the said contact details, stated that she does not require any police officials visiting her residence and if in case she requires any assistance, then the Petitioner herself will contact on the given phone numbers.
5. That during the course of investigation, the Respondent No. 2 revealed that the Petitioner worked with him at Tech-Mahindra in Noida Sector-62, since past 7 years. The Petitioner and Respondent No. 2 were in an alleged relationship for the past three years, and they both loved each other.
6. That the Respondent No. 2 further revealed that he and Petitioner got married on 20.10.2023, at Sh. Shyama Shyam Sharnam Dharmarth Trust in Vishwas Nagar, Delhi, with the approval of the Petitioner.
8. That the Respondent No. 2 stated that after the marriage rituals were over, an application for registration of marriage dated 20.10.2023 was moved before the Marriage Officer, Preet Vihar. Delhi under the Special Marriage Act, however due to the family and societal pressure the Petitioner left her matrimonial home without the consent of Respondent No. 2 and went back to her paternal home, pursuant to which the marriage could not get registered before SDM Preet Vihar.
9. That the Marriage certificate dated 20.10.2023 and certificate of conversion of religion dated 19.10.2023 of the Petitioner have been verified on 14.09.2024 from Sh. Shyama Shyam Sharnam Dharmarth Trust situated at Vishwas Nagar Delhi and both the documents are found to be authentic.
Copy of Marriage Certificate dated 20.10.2023 is annexed as ANNEXURE A-1.
Copy of certificate of conversion of religion dated 19.10.2023 is annexed as ANNEXURE A-2.
10. However the undersigned shall abide by any directions passed by this Hon'ble Court.

The perusal of the status report revealed that the petitioner has married to Piyush Thakur on 09.09.2024, which was formally pronounced on 20.10.2023. However, the petitioner thereafter was not comfortable in participating in the rituals of respondent no.2. Learned additional standing counsel for State, on instructions, states that the investigation officer had provided the contact details of the concerned SHO, beat staff and division officers and has offered to contact them in case of any help. Learned additional standing counsel submits that the petitioner has stated that she does not require any police official to visit her residence and if in case she requires any assistance, then the petitioner herself will contact them. It has also been submitted that during the course of enquiry it was revealed that the petitioner and respondent no.2 were in some relation.

However, without going into the facts and circumstances of the case, the court is confining itself to the fact that the concerned Station House Officer shall ensure that if any complaint is received from the complainant, the appropriate action shall be taken in accordance with law.
