This is a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of BNSS for issuing directions to respondent nos. 1 and 2 to protect the petitioner from respondent no. 3 and his associates. 2.
Respondent no.3 is the husband of the petitioner. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner faced continuous harassment, physical and mental torture, dowry demands and abuse from respondent no.3 and his family. On multiple occasions, she was kicked out of the matrimonial home and was threatened to be killed if she did not comply with his demands. 3.
It is further submitted that due to repeated violence and threats, the petitioner left the matrimonial home and lodged a complaint dated 10.08.2025 vide DD No. 14 at P.S. It is submitted that petitioner apprehends danger to her life from respondent no.3 and his associates.

Learned counsel appearing for respondent no.3 states that the allegations of threat perception are false inasmuch as no threat is being extended by respondent no.3 to the petitioner. He further states that petitioner has already filed a divorce petition against respondent no.3 and is having an extra marital relationship.

It is the duty of the Respondent- State to provide protection to the citizens specially where the vulnerability of the situation arises out of the marital relationship. This Court being the constitutional court is expected to further the constitutional protection to citizens. 7.
Accordingly, SHO of Police Station Welcome is directed to provide his contact number and contact number of the Beat Officer of the area to the petitioner with direction that there is immediate response in case petitioner seeks any help or assistance of the police authority as and when required. 8.
The petition accordingly stands disposed of in terms of the above order.
