By the present petition, the petitioner essentially seeks quashing of FIR No. 181/2024 registered at Police Station K. N. Katju Marg for offences under Sections 376/328 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 ('IPC') and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom.

The FIR was registered pursuant to a complaint given by the prosecutrix thereby alleging that she was forced to engage in sexual intercourse with the petitioner on the false pretext of marriage.

The learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner submits that the parties were admittedly in a consensual relationship and were also officially engaged to get married. He submits that a ceremony in that regard was also held on 14.02.2024, however, subsequently, when the petitioner lost his job, the relationship fell apart.

He submits that the prosecutrix herself, after the petitioner lost his job, had sent messages to the petitioner in regard to calling off the alliance. He submits that thereafter the prosecutrix subsequently gave a complaint which led to the registration of the FIR.

He submits that the allegations as levelled read along with the admitted evidence, do not make out any case against the petitioner. He, at the outset, states that since the chargesheet has already been filed and the matter is now listed before the learned Trial Court on 30.08.2025 for considering the arguments on charge, the petitioner would address all arguments before the learned Trial Court.

He, however, states that since the petitioner is a resident of Raigarh, Maharashtra a direction may be passed that the arguments would be heard by the learned Trial Court without any delay.

The learned counsel for the complainant is also present in the Court. He submits that no unwarranted adjournments will be taken before the learned Trial Court and all endeavours will be made to conclude the arguments on the next date itself. 8.
Considering the above, no orders are required to be passed at this stage.

Court in case any grievance remains in future. 10.
The petition is disposed of with a request to the learned Trial Court to make endeavour to expeditiously conclude arguments on charge.
