The sole prayer made by the petitioner in the instant writ petition is to expedite the hearing of appeal which has been preferred against the order passed by the District Magistrate. The petitioner seems to be a senior citizen and had invoked the provisions of the Act of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 and the Rules framed there under and on 11.03.2025 the remedy was invoked by the petitioner. 2.

Looking at the facts and circumstances of the case, it is directed that the appeal of the petitioner pending before the Divisional Commissioner be decided within a period of six months from the date of receipt of the copy of the order passed today. The statement of the respondent is taken on record who contends that he will not seek for any unnecessary adjournment.
