This is a petition under Section 528 of BNSS (erstwhile Section 482 of CrPC) seeking quashing of FIR No. 676/2022, under Section 363 of IPC, registered at P.S.: Vivek Vihar and consequential proceedings emanating therefrom.

The FIR was registered on the complaint of respondent No. 2 who stated that her minor daughter, aged about 17 years and 7 months was missing. Thereafter, the minor girl was found in Dehradun. 3.
As per Mr. Singh, learned APP, in the statements given under Sections 161 and 164 of CrPC, the minor girl said that she was angry with her parents, she went on her own and there are no allegations of sexual assault.

During the pendency of the proceedings, the parties have arrived at a settlement wherein the complainant/respondent No. 2 states that she has sorted out her differences with the petitioner. 5.

The petitioner is also present and identified by Mr. Abhishek Goswami, Advocate.

Both the parties state that they have entered into the aforesaid settlement out of their own free will, volition and without any threat, force, undue influence or coercion.

Since the parties have arrived at a settlement and no disputes are pending, I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring about peace and would secure the ends of justice. This court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings are permitted to be prosecuted any further. It is a fit case for quashing. 9.
For the said reasons, FIR No. 676/2022, under Section 363 of IPC, registered at P.S.: Vivek Vihar and consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed.

The name of the minor girl appearing anywhere on Court record is directed to be redacted.

The petition is accordingly disposed of.
