This writ petition has been preferred on behalf of the Petitioners under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking regularisation as employees of the erstwhile Syndicate Bank and currently working with the Canara Bank.

Mr. Jagdish Chandra, learned CGSC accepts notice on behalf of Respondent No.1 and Mr. Rajesh Kumar Gautam, learned counsel accepts notice on behalf of Respondents No.3 and 4.

From a reading of the petition and the documents annexed thereto, it is clear that the Petitioners have approached this Court directly without exhausting the remedy of representation before the concerned Respondents, i.e. Respondents No.3 and 4.

In my view, it would be appropriate at this stage to dispose of this petition with a direction to Respondents No.3 and 4 to treat this writ petition as a representation and decide the same within a period of 8 weeks from today, after examining all the issues flagged by the Petitioners and in accordance with law.

Learned counsel for the Petitioners, at this stage, submits that the Petitioners have an apprehension that their services might be dispensed with during the period of consideration of their representation. 8.

In view of the apprehension raised by learned counsel for the Petitioners, it is directed that the services of the Petitioners will not be dispensed with for a period of 3 weeks from the date the decision is communicated to the counsel for the Petitioners. 9.
