% 22.02.2017 The petitioner has preferred the present bail application to seek anticipatory bail in case FIR 27/2017 dated 22.01.2017 u/s 307 IPC. The submission of counsel for the petitioner is that the petitioner is barely 19 years of age and in case he is arrested in the case, it will mar his future prospects and career. He further submits that the petitioner has not committed the offence.

On the other hand, Mr. Kumar submits that the petitioner has been named not only by the victim who suffered the grievous injury, but also by an eye witness. The incident took place in slaughter house when the petitioner assaulted the uncle of the complainant with a sharp knife/ weapon.

On the last date, the petitioner had claimed that there was a CCTV footage available of the incident and the State was required to find out if the same was available. The status report discloses that the owner of the slaughter house has stated that the CCTV installed has not been functioning for the last 8 months.

In view of the aforesaid, I am not inclined to grant any relief to the petitioner at this stage. Dismissed.

The petitioner is present in court and he surrenders before the court. He may be taken into custody forthwith.
