These applications under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 ["the Act"], are for extension of the mandate of a O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 727/2024 & connected matter. learned arbitrator, who is in seisin of disputes between the parties under two contracts, one dated 30.11.2011 and the other dated 01.12.2011. 2.

At the request of the Court, Mr. Balendu Shekhar, learned counsel, was requested to take instructions from National Highways Authority of India. When the matters are taken up for hearing on second call, Mr. Shekhar states that he has instructions not to oppose these applications. 3.

In both the petitions, a learned arbitrator was appointed by orders dated 22.08.2022 in ARB.P. 1138/2021 and ARB.P. 1139/2021. The mandate of the learned arbitrator expired on 08.09.2024 after the consensual extension of six months permitted under Section 29A(3) of the Act.

I am informed that in both cases, the proceedings are at the stage of final hearing.

With the consent of learned counsel for the parties, the applications are allowed, and the mandate of the learned tribunal is extended for a period of six months from 09.09.2024.
