This is a petition seeking issuance of directions to the respondent to release the petitioner on parole for a period of 4 weeks on the ground of treatment of his old age mother who is stated to be hospitalised and suffering from serious and life-threatening ailments.

Petitioner has been serving life sentence since 2016 having completed almost 16 years of incarceration without remission. 3.

21.07.2025 passed in W.P. (CRL.) 2222/2025 vide which petitioner was granted liberty to revive his request for parole before the competent authority after 14.08.2025.

Ld. Counsel submits that petitioner revived his request for grant of parole by filing an application dated 31.07.2025 because of the deteriorating condition of his mother but the said application has not been disposed of till date.

Ld. ASC prays for grant of two weeks' time for disposing of the application.

In view of the statement made by Ld. ASC on behalf of the State, the petition is disposed of with direction to the competent authority to dispose of the application of petitioner for grant of parole within a period of two weeks.
