This is a petition filed under section 29A (4) & (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator by a further period of one year from 16.10.2025 for making the final Award.

It is stated that there were multiple applications filed before the learned Sole Arbitrator by the respondent No. 1 seeking amendment of its Statement of Defence and hence, the delay.

For the said reasons, issue notice to the respondents. 4.
Mr. Nagar, learned counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and without admitting to any of the contents of the petition and without prejudice to the respondents' rights and contentions raised in the arbitration proceedings, has no objection to the extension of the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator.

I am of the view that sufficient cause has been explained for the delay. 6.
For the said reasons, the petition is allowed and the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator is extended by a period of one year from 16.10.2025 to make and publish the final Award, subject to paragraph No. 4 as above.

The petition is disposed of accordingly.
