O R D E R

% 20.03.2017 The petitioner, who is an advocate, was denied information sought by his application dated 20.12.2014, wherein, the petitioner had sought information with regard to certain proceedings pertaining to his client Mr. Faisal Mukri. The information was denied on the ground that the applicant was a third party and was seeking information with regard to Mr. Faisal Mukri.

The petitioner, who appears in person, submits that the petitioner was representing Mr. Faisal Mukri in all the proceedings, in respect of which, the information had been sought and had the right and authority to file the application.

The petitioner submits that, as information was denied on a technical ground that the application was filed in the name of the petitioner and not in the name of Mr. Faizal Mukri, through his advocate, he submits that he would be filing a fresh application under WP(C) 2427/2017

the Right to Information Act, 2005 in the name of Mr. Faisal Mukri, through his advocate and submit the requisite documents showing his authority to file the application on behalf of and in the name of Mr. Faisal Mukri. For the said purpose he seeks leave to withdraw the petition.

In view of the above, the petition is dismissed as withdrawn reserving liberty of the petitioner as prayed for. It is clarified that this court has not expressed any opinion on the authority of the Petitioner to apply on behalf of and in the name of Mr. Faisal Mukri. If such an application is filed, the competent authority shall be free to satisfy itself about the factum of the petitioner possessing such an authority. The competent authority shall be free to consider such an application without being influenced by anything stated in this order.
