This petition has been filed seeking directions to respondent to decide upon the representation/replies of the petitioner submitted in response to Show-Cause Notice (SCN) dated 23rd April 2025 ('Impugned SCN') issued under Section 10(1) of the Passports Act, 1967. 2.

Petitioner claims to be permanent resident of India, who is holding a Passport No.C9576388 and is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a company namely, M/s Assurance Intl Limited, which has business in both India and internationally. Mr. Akash Deep Gupta, counsel for petitioner states that new passport was issued on 27th March 2025. However, the SCN was subsequently issued on 23rd April 2025. Representation/reply was submitted on 03rd May 2025 within the stipulated time period of fifteen days informing the respondents of the facts surrounding the FIR No.294/2022. 4.

On 08th May 2025, respondents were informed that that since Police verification is adverse, petitioner was required to meet the Passport Regional Office (PRO); meeting took place on 03rd June 2025. However, even after three months, the case of petitioner has not proceeded with nor petitioner has received any response and they are set to travel for business purposes to United Kingdom in mid-September.

Accordingly, issue Notice.

Notice is accepted by Mr. Rohan Jaitley (CGSC) on behalf of respondent.

In view of these facts and circumstances, it is directed that the representation/reply of the petitioner will be decided within the next two weeks and a decision will be taken on the Show-Cause Notice with a reasoned order.

Counsel for petitioner states that they have submitted all the relevant documents. If any further documents, which are necessitated from the petitioner, requisition shall be sent within one week to petitioner in order that the decision can be taken within the stipulated time. 9.
