The present Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 has been filed on behalf of the petitioners seeking directions to the respondent Nos. 1 to 2 to give adequate security for the protection of the life and liberty of the petitioners.

It is submitted in the petition that the respondent Nos. 3 to 7 are the relatives of the wife of petitioner No. 2 who have been coming and beating the petitioners. The complaints have been made in the Police Station, but no action has been taken.

Issue notice.

Mr. Sanjay Lao, learned Standing Counsel appearing on advance notice, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent Nos. 1 to 2 and, on instructions from the Investigating Officer, who is present in the Court, submits that on the complaint of the petitioners, an NCR has been recorded as no cognizable offence has been disclosed.

He further submits that petitioners shall be provided adequate security. 7.

It is submitted on behalf of the respondent Nos. 1 and 2 that the petitioner No. 1 who shall be registered as a senior citizen and shall be provided with adequate security.

Submissions heard.

In view of the averments made and the relief sought by way of present petition, the respondent Nos. 1 and 2 are directed to make available the mobile numbers of the Beat Constable as well as of the concerned SHO, who shall immediately respond on receiving the call from the petitioners. 10.

The Beat Constable is also directed to patrol at least once in a week near the house of the petitioners.

Accordingly, the present petition along with pending application is disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
