On 29th August, 2025,the Court had taken suo moto notice of the report published in the Times of India newspaper on the same date (hereinafter, 'the news report'), wherein a 12 year old boy, namely Mr. Rishabh Singh Parihar, (hereinafter, 'the child') was stated to have slipped from the first floor of his house on 19th August, 2025 and was facing enormous challenges in finding an ICU bed in any government hospital in Delhi. 3.

Thereafter, certain directions were issued to Shree Aggrasain International Hospital located at PSP, Seetor-22, Rohini, New Delhi (hereinafter, 'the hospital') with respect to ensuring that the treatment of the The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. child is undertaken in a proper manner and be converted into an Economically Weaker Section (hereinafter, 'EWS') case.

Today, Mr. Ashok Agarwal, ld. Amicus Curiae, has informed the Court that the child has now been discharged, on request of the guardians, on 17th September 2025. He has recovered and his medical condition is satisfactory. An email dated 18th September 2025 from the hospital has also been placed on record.

The Hospital has also agreed that the child would be allowed free treatment even in the Out Patient Department of the hospital without any further charges. Taking the same as an undertaking on behalf of the hospital and recording the appreciation to the hospital as also to the ld. Amicus Curiae, this matter is closed.

The present case was a result of a news report wherein a reporter from the Times of India, namely Ms. Anuja Jaiswal, had highlighted the medical situation of the child and the plight of the parents. The Court had taken notice of the said news report, which led to this case. Such reporting, highlighting the difficulties faced by the citizens shows a responsible manner of reporting, keeping in mind the duty towards public. Thus, the reporter also deserves appreciation from the Court.
