This is a petition under Section 29A (4) & (5) of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996 for extending the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for a period of one year.

Material on record indicates that a Sole Arbitrator was appointed on 05.08.2022 to adjudicate upon the disputes between the parties. It is stated that since the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal has come to an end on 20.08.2024, the Petitioner has approached this Court for extension of time for the Arbitral Tribunal to pass an Award.

In the facts and circumstance of this case, this Court is inclined to extend the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for a further period of one year The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. so that the Award can be pronounced and no further extension of time would be required.
