1. By way of the present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, the petitioner, who is serving in the Border Security Force (BSF) has approached this Court by way of the present petition with a grievance that his statutory petition dated 10.05.2023 filed under Section 117(2) of the BSF Act, 1968 to assail the findings and sentence of the General Security Force Court held against him on 12.10.2022, has not been decided till date. Learned counsel for the petitioner, therefore, prays that the respondent be directed to decide the same expeditiously so that if the need so arises, the petitioner can avail of appropriate legal remedies.

2. Issue notice.

3. In the light of the aforesaid, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondents to decide the petitioner's pending statutory petition within a period of four weeks by passing a reasoned and speaking order.

4. Needless to state, in case the petitioner is aggrieved by any order passed by the respondents, it will be open for him to seek legal recourse, as permissible in law.
