Heard the learned counsel for the parties.

This public interest litigation petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents not to shift/relocate or transfer the office of the Deputy Director of Education, GNCTD, which is presently located at Zone-6, C-Block, Dilshad Garden, Delhi.

The submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner is that the office of the Deputy Director of Education, GNCTD, is being shifted to a school situated at Sunder Nagri, Delhi, where education is being imparted both to the boys and girls students upto 8th standard and relocation of the office shall hinder their education and also cause some safety concerns. The petitioner also states that in the morning shift, it is the girls students who are attending the school and in the evening shift, it is the boys. 4.

safety concerns to the students for the reason that there are no separate entries/exits for the students and those who will be employed in the office of the Deputy Director of Education 5.

So far as the decision of the government to relocate or shift the office of the Deputy Director of Education from a particular place to another place is concerned, we do not find any reason to interfere in such a decision, however the concern raised by the petitioner regarding appropriate safety measures and creation of adequate friendly environment for the students being imparted education cannot be overlooked.

Accordingly, we dispose of this writ petition with the direction to the State Government to take appropriate measures so that the studies of the students in the school concerned in part of which the office of the Deputy Director of Education, is sought to be shifted is not hampered in any manner and for the said purpose, if it is physically possible, the government shall make provision for separate entries/exits for the students and for the persons attending the office of the Deputy Director of Education. For the said purpose, the concerned authority of the Education Department shall immediately conduct a survey and take appropriate decision which may be warranted in the interest of the students, as culled out above. 7.

The writ petition is thus, disposed of in the aforesaid terms. 8.
